Swimming in the Vis river
The Vis river, which runs through our village of Madières, is one of the cleanest rivers in France! You can access it directly by taking the path on the Château grounds.
Although the water of the Vis is relatively fresh, its remarkable clarity and its spectacular landscapes in the gorges provoke an influx in the summer to the numerous swimming areas which adorn its course.
You will have the choice among others, apart from the surroundings of the Castle:

The Laroque nautical base, 30 minutes from Montpellier, offers rental of pedal boats, boats, paddle-boards, canoes and kayaks on its lake. At the foot of the Cévennes, come and enjoy this exceptional site combining nature and heritage with family or friends.
On the program: nautical activities, relaxation area and above all discovery of the Hérault Gorges.
Accompanying guests will not be left out thanks to our relaxation area on the Laroque beach, close to numerous bars and restaurants overlooking the Hérault.

- Distance from the Château: 5 minutes on foot (la Vis), 30 minutes by car (Laroque)
- Temperature between 15 and 20 degrees
- The nautical base is open from Saturday July 3 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday (unless changed).
- Prices: variable depending on activity, from 8€
